Student Support
Sacred Heart of Jesus School is fortunate to offer a range of support services designed to help every student reach their full potential. We are committed to meeting the individual needs of each child. The following services are provided on an as-needed basis.
Intervention Specialist
Our Intervention Specialist provides a supportive, remediation-based program for students identified with specific learning needs in one or more content areas. The specialist develops appropriate short-term and annual goals and works closely with classroom teachers to ensure coordinated support. Within the classroom, the Intervention Specialist may assist any student who needs additional help and collaborates with teachers to modify lessons and assignments to best meet individual learning needs.
School Nurse
Our full-time School Nurse implements a comprehensive school health services program to promote and maintain the well-being of our school community. The nurse manages students’ daily health needs, illnesses, medical emergencies, and required health screenings. In addition, the nurse coordinates medication administration and oversees Individualized Care Plans for students with chronic medical conditions such as asthma, food allergies, diabetes, migraines, and other health concerns.
Speech-Language Therapist
Our part-time Speech-Language Pathologist identifies and supports students with speech and language needs in the areas of articulation, receptive language, expressive language, fluency, and voice. The therapist develops appropriate short-term and annual goals and collaborates with classroom teachers to ensure effective coordination of services.
Reading Tutor
Our full-time Reading Tutor works closely with the Title I Reading Tutor and teachers in grades 1–4 to support students experiencing difficulty in reading. Instruction is provided to qualifying students through small-group or individual sessions designed to remediate skills and maximize learning potential.
Title I Reading Tutor
Our part-time Title I Reading Tutor plans, implements, and evaluates targeted reading interventions for qualifying students. Support is delivered through small-group diagnostic, instructional, and evaluative programs. Reading instruction is provided in small-group or individual settings to address skill gaps and support student success.
